A taste of … Cockney!

Cockney has long provided the soundtrack to London life. Modern Cockney challenges the idea that “Cockney is dying” by showing how it continues to evolve as a vibrant cultural community -one that embraces diverse backgrounds, cultures, and beliefs. It offers a powerful voice for overcoming adversity, tackling social prejudice, and building togetherness among all who share an affinity with non-posh Londoners. Come along to learn to speak like a Londoner and learn some Cockney rhyming slang!

This session will be presented by Clive Bennett, Pearly King of Woolwich, and Andy Green, co-founder for the Modern Cockney Festival.
