Parkwood Primary School, Hackney, hosted a joyful London: City of Languages assembly on 10 July to celebrate pupils’ creativity and multilingual pride. The visit recognised the school’s impressive contribution to the London Festival of Languages 2026 Poster Competition – including two standout entries.
Nathan’s design was selected as a finalist and featured in the top twelve posters displayed across London, even attracting praise from an MP during the Westminster showcase. Edward’s detailed work was named a runner‑up and included in the shortlist. Both pupils received certificates, and their posters will appear throughout the Festival campaign.
During the visit, pupils and staff added colourful handprints and messages to the school’s growing Tree of Languages mural, creating a lively celebration of Parkwood’s rich linguistic heritage.
London: City of Languages praised the school’s strong commitment to languages, creativity and cultural openness.
