Join this lively introduction to te reo Māori, the language of the Indigenous people of Aotearoa New Zealand.
This friendly and interactive session will introduce you to a language that has experienced remarkable revival in the past 30 years, and is now a part of everyday life in Aotearoa.
We’ll learn some simple phrases for greeting and farewelling people, some fun colloquial sayings, and gain a brief insight into the cultural world of Māori.
Kiwiroa Marshall is a London-based Māori educator and cultural advisor, and senior member of Ngāti Rānana, the London Māori Club.
